The main goal of the project is to provide a platform that will enable easy deployment of applications, which will involve citizens to collect data on land use and land cover (LULC). Collected data will become, on the one hand, integrated with the data resources of Earth observation programmes as Copernicus and GEOSS. On the other, citizen-provided data will serve as a starting point for commercial applications.

During the three years of the project BetterSolutions will create underlying platform components for geographic information processing, including LULC data integration module. One of the project innovations is to create semantic LULC nomenclature, which will account for the integration of data from various Earth observation programmes.
One of the outcomes of the project is a system, which employs OASIS platform to process in-situ and satellite (MODIS, Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2) data in order to estimate the amount of biomass available for grazing. In result, BetterSolutions will introduce to its portfolio a product dedicated for smart agriculture industry that will support decision-making in forage producers and dairy farms.
